Light Tune up for the Nissan 370Z by Schmidt Revolution

For its latest endeavor, German tuning company Schmidt Revolution has released a rather modest package for the Nissan 370Z Coupe and Roadster sports cars. The tune up doesn't include any engine modifications, and instead focuses on the Japanese model's appearance, sound and handling.

The most obvious change are the new three-piece alloy wheels, which are available in two sizes: 20-inch with 245/30-20 Hankook tires up front and 305/25-20 at the back, priced at €4,999 (US$7,233); and 21-inch shod in tires 245/30-21 and 295/25-21, front and back respectively, at €5,999 (US$8,680).

Schmidt Revolution also offers a sport exhaust system that promises to produce throatier sound along with H&R coilover suspension and dampers.

2012 Chevrolet Camaro Officially Unveiled, gets Revised V6 with 323HP and Interior Upgrades

For the 2012 model year, Chevrolet offers the Camaro with a host of improvements to celebrate the iconic pony car's 45th anniversary. The 3.6-liter V6 engine has been upgraded to develop 323 horsepower at 6,800 rpm, an increase of 11 horsepower over the 2011 engine while fuel consumption remains at 30 mpg (7.84 l/100 km) on the highway.

The revised engine is 20.5 pounds (9.3 kg) lighter and benefits from a thorough rework, including new cylinder head design, larger intake valves, new fuel pump and optimized-flow fuel injectors, among other changes.

2012MY Camaro SS coupes will be available with a new FE4 sport suspension, which improves handling. "We applied lessons learned from extensive track testing to better refine the suspension geometry for flatter cornering, a more neutral balance during hard turns, and minimized understeer at the limit," says Al Oppenheiser, Camaro chief engineer.

The new suspension package includes retuned front and rear dampers, new solid front (23 mm) and rear (24 mm) stabilizer bars and 20-inch aluminum wheels.

The interior revisions for the 2012 model year Camaro concern the revamped instrument panel with different graphics and trim, a new steering wheel design (which looks exactly like the one found in the sonic...) and a power lift feature for the passenger seat.

A new added feature is the Rear Vision Package, which consists of a rearview camera system. On the outside, the 2012 Camaro gets a new rear spoiler and the RS appearance taillamps as standard.

Chevrolet will also launch a 45th Anniversary Special Edition Camaro, set to be unveiled on April 15 in Arizona at the Camaro5 Fest II. The anniversary package will be offered on the top two trim levels (2LT and 2SS), for both coupe and convertible models. Special edition Camaros carry over all the 2012 upgrades and feature a unique rally stripe in red and silver painted over the Carbon Flash Metallic paint.

Model-specific exterior details include 45th Anniversary badges on the front fenders, new 20-inch dark silver wheels, RS-style taillamp lenses, fog lamp and taillamp bezels finished in dark silver, standard rear spoiler and HID headlamps and body-color roof molding.

On the inside, the 45th anniversary Camaro features a Jet Black interior with leather upholstery, a white instrument panel and door trim inserts, red, white and blue stitching on the seats, steering wheel, shift knob, door armrests and console lid. The 45th Anniversary logo can be found on the seats, steering wheel and sill plates.

Aston Martin’s New Vantage GT3 Racer to Replace DBRS9

To the delight of most motorsport fans, Aston Martin's racing division has thrown the covers off its latest creation, the all-new Vantage GT3 racer, which will be ready for competition in 2012. Based on the V12 Vantage road car, the GT3 model will take the place of the DBRS9 after a five-year long career that began in 2006 at Le Mans, and which has since seen a total of 26 chassis built cars that were raced to numerous victories in national and international series across the world.

"The DBRS9 has been a very successful GT3 racing car and, despite being more than six years old, is still competitive today," said John Gaw, Aston Martin Racing Managing Director. "However, the competition has moved on and we needed to create a new car that combines our six years' experience in this category with the latest race technology to continue Aston Martin's success in GT3 for many years to come."

Aston Martin's latest race model is still under development with the company having set a target weight of 1250kg (2,756 pounds) and target engine performance figures in excess of 600bhp and 700Nm.

The British company said that the first prototype of the Vantage GT3 will be completed in July 2011, and will undertake an extensive test and development programme during the rest of the year. Aston Martin plans to build a first batch of 10 customer cars for the start of the 2012 season.

The new Vantage GT3 will join Aston Martin's extensive range of race cars that includes the Vantage GT2, GT4, DBR9 GT1 and the AMR-One LMP.

Mopar ’11 Charger: First Photos of Limited Run Hemi Special, Priced at $39,750

Mopar fans, rejoice: Chrysler's in-house performance division has released detailed information including prices and the first real life photos of its new

Mopar '11 Charger special outfitted with custom upgrades inside and out. The limited edition Charger follows in the footsteps of last year's Mopar version of the Dodge

Challenger and will be built in 1,000 units, 900 of which are destined for the U.S. and 100 for Canada.

Power comes from the same 5.7-liter HEMI V8 with 370 horsepower and 395 lb.-ft. of torque found under the bonnet of the redesigned 2011 Charger R/T. However, the company promises improved acceleration thanks to the "Super Trac Pac" option, which includes a specially calibrated engine controller that is said to match maximum engine power and transmission shifting to the differential for the Mopar '11 Charger.

The Mopar-ized Charger sticks with the company's five-speed W5A580 automatic transmission, but as you'd expect, it gets a "Pistol Grip" shifter combined with Auto Stick. To improve acceleration, the differential features a new 3.91:1 final-drive ratio, with the company claiming that initial tests have returned a 0-to-60 mph (96 km/h) sprint time in the low five-second range.

The limited run Charger also sports changes to the chassis including the addition of larger solid stabilizer bars (front: 30mm, rear: 20mm) and cross-car braces at both the front and rear shock towers.

Stopping power is provided through vented rotors measuring 345mm x 28mm up front that are fitted with dual-piston, sliding calipers, while at the rear we find vented rotors measuring 320mm x 22mm, coupled with single-piston calipers. The car rides on bespoke 20-inch alloy wheels finished in a high gloss black color, shod with Goodyear F1 Supercar 245/45ZR20 tires at all four corners.

The Mopar 11' Charger is available exclusively in "Pitch Black" finish with twin racing stripes in a blue hue. Aside from the wheels we mentioned previously, the the styling changes on the outside are limited to a Mopar front grille and rear-deck badge.

Interior touches consist of bespoke leather wrapped seats and steering wheel stitched in Mopar Blue thread, engine-turned instrument bezels, a special identification plaque identifying the car's production number and a custom Mopar key fob. All cars also come with bright pedal covers, Mopar floor mats and front-door sill entry guards.

The car will be available for order from any Dodge dealer with an MSRP of $39,750, which includes destination fee.
